After premiering at Lincoln Center in New York as the Opening Night Film of the oldest and most prestigious dance film festival un the world, <em>American Tap<\/em> went on to win the Audience Award at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival. It continues to sell throughout the world as the definitive documentary film about tap dance<\/p>\n<p class=\"style1\">Described by Kevin Thomas in the Los Angeles Times as \u201ca deep-digging and personal filmmaker,\u201d Mark made his feature film debut with <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ivyfilms.com\/dischord\/default.html\">Dischord<\/a><\/em>, an art-house thriller that was released theatrically in 2003 by Artistic License Films and is now available on DVD in 6 countries including the U.S. Called \u201ca great independent film and a spectacular debut from filmmaker Wilkinson,\u201d by Chris Gore of Filmthreat, <em>Dischord <\/em> enjoyed an extensive festival run before its release, collecting a total of 10 Grand Prize Awards including: Best Director, Best of Fest, Best First Feature, Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay (<a href=\"videoscope.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press-Videoscope<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"style1\">Mark also wrote and directed two award-winning short films which were also screened at festivals internationally. &nbsp; <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ivyfilms.com\/tnbt\/tnbtmovie.html\">The Next Big Thing<\/a><\/em> (<a href=\"cinefantastique.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press-Cinefantastique<\/a>). a science fiction piece about virtual-reality gone awry, won a Saturn Golden Scroll Award from the Science Fiction Academy and has since been declared a \u201ctransgressive cinema classic\u201d by British sci-fi fanzine rumourmachine.com. <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sallyandangela.com\">Sally &amp; Angela<\/a><\/em>, an action-adventure comedy, garnered multiple directing and comedy awards at festivals around the world and was also screened in Paris during the Festival du Sang Neuf (\u201cNew Blood\u201d), an exhibition of the 12 best short films of the year by American and French filmmakers. &nbsp; <em>Sally &amp; Angela <\/em> is part of the iFiim Midnight Classics collection of most popular internet movies of all time and is distributed worldwide for cable TV, the Internet, and VHS and can also be seen on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atomfilms.com\/film\/sally_angela.jsp\">atomfilms.com<\/a>. Mark&#8217;s most recent film <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ivyfilms.com\/bitingpersonalities\/index.html\">Biting Personalities<\/a><\/em> which he made with his teammates in the 2007 SoCal Cinema Slam 72 Hour Competition won Best Film, Best Screenplay, Audience Award and was screened in the Sundance Digital Pavillion in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>He directed &nbsp;music videos for <a href=\"https:\/\/first-avenue.com\/performer\/danielle-barbe\">Danielle Barbe<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Semi_Precious_Weapons\">Semi Precious Weapons<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.missderringer.com\">Miss Derringer<\/a> as well as spoken-word artist <a href=\"http:\/\/thenervousbreakdown.com\/jpillow\/2010\/07\/profile-of-a-street-poet-rich-ferguson\/\">Rich Ferguson<\/a> who appears on the next 1 Giant Leap project. Mark&#8217;s production of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ivyfilms.com\/duetforone\/home.html\">Duet for One<\/a> <\/em> was called &#8220;an impressive and elegant production&#8221; by <a href=\"duet_reviewplays.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ReviewPlays<\/a> and \u201ca must-see\u201d by Entertainment Today and after a lengthy extension was adapted into the film <em>6 Sessions <\/em> (currently in post-production). &nbsp; Mark also directed <em>No\u00ebl<\/em> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblank.com\/\">The Blank<\/a> Theatre&#8217;s 2006 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youngplaywrights.com\/\">Young Playwrights Festival<\/a>, as well as many plays in development in The Blank&#8217;s Living Room Series.
